That time disgusting Chris Matthews of MSNBC ‘joked’ about giving Hillary ‘the COSBY PILL’

(National SentinelHypocrisy: A video clip has emerged of MSNBC’s Chris Matthews joking about giving then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton a “Cosby pill” as he was setting up for an interview in January 2016.

Before the interview began and Matthews was waiting for Clinton to arrive at an Iowa firehouse, he quipped, “Can I have some of the queen’s waters? Precious waters?” before adding, “Where’s that Bill Cosby pill I brought with me?”

At that, Matthews laughs for an extended moment, though it was clear that staff around him was uncomfortable with the line.

Comedian Cosby has been accused of sexual impropriety by dozens of women. Some of them allege they were drugged by him and then raped.

Watch, via The Cut:

“This was a terrible comment I made in poor taste during the height of the Bill Cosby headlines,” Matthews said to The Cut. “I realize that’s no excuse. I deeply regret it and I’m sorry.”

However, Matthews has a lengthy history of disparaging remarks directed at Hillary Clinton, once calling her “witchy.” Also, he often channels what he says a hypothetical Republican might say about a female presidential candidate, such as “she-devil,” and “Madame Defarge.”

The Cut noted further:

In 2005, he wondered whether the troops would “take the orders” from a (female) President Clinton. “Is she hemmed in by the fact that she’s a woman and can’t admit a mistake,” he asked in 2006, “or else the Republicans will say, ‘Oh, that’s a woman’s prerogative to change her mind,’ or ‘another fickle woman’? Is her gender a problem in her ability to change her mind?

He also pinched her on the cheek once after a testy interview, when she came over to him.
