Ann Talbot saw a large round glowing object hover and fly across the Sooke Basin last week.

Sooke resident Ann Talbot was on her balcony around 10:30 p.m. last Friday when she saw something strange – a bright light streak over the treetops near the Sooke Basin, hovering in the sky about 100 metres from her home.

“I parked my car in the middle of a side road where either a saucer or possibly a sphere was hovering above the tree line. It stood hovering for a few minutes, silently may I add, and then darted incredibly quickly(as in hundreds of miles per hour) down the tree line, instantaneously changed direction back to its original location and then shot up into the sky and out of sight.”

A Greerton resident's former disbelief in claims of UFO sightings has been changed forever by what he saw above Argyll Road last night. He was awoken about 12.30am by a thud he imagined was made by a cat.

“I was looking out onto our lawn when I noticed a flickering greenish coloured light moving quickly across the horizon, before coming to a sudden stop in a south westerly direction, which appeared to be somewhere toward the Kaimai Range, hovering slightly,” says Jayson Hurley.

An Ohio witness at West Carrollton reported watching and videotaping two spinning UFOs with a gem shape that appeared to move in formation, according to testimony in Case 72295 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database. The witness was outside smoking when two lights were noticed rising above the tree line about 6:30 p.m. on November 7, 2015. “The two craft traveled a straight and level flight path from northwest to southeast,” the witness stated.“They appeared to be a spinning gem shape, with no sound. Both were spinning in unison, and appeared to be flying in formation. Recon definitely came to mind.”

Researchers of UFO-related phenomena refer to these events as "skywatches" - meetings held in various parts of the country to observe and investigate so-called UFO hotspots. The main goal is, of course, a direct experience with unidentified flying objects. Within this framewoerk, one of the most spectacular occurences happened in the locality of Punta Piedras, facing the River Plate in Buenos Aires.

It was there that several experts on the subject were able to witness a reddish sphere rise out of the water, climb several meters, change its color to orange and finally speed off toward Uruguay. The incredible case occurred on July 25, 2009 at a site north of the Bay of San Borombón, and was witnessed by members of the GABIE Group, whom aside from UFO research, also engage in astronomy and other scientific studies. They were Pablo Lasa, Ariel Cóppola, Martín Costes, Fernando Lisardo, Nicolas Lisardo y Catriel, who were present throughout the event.

According to the story, the sigthing took place from a camp ground known as El Desanso in Punta Piedras. "The skywatch had been scheduled for the previous weekend, but it was necessary to reschedule it due to weather conditions," they explained.

Martín Costes was the group member who was best able to see the phenomenon in detail. "Pablo, Ariel, Fernando and their two children were near me by the bonfire, discussing subjects pertaining to astronomy, when the conversation took a turn and we started talking about UFOs," he said, adding: "After a few minutes of conversation, I got up to import weather data from the weather station in my tablet. So I turned my back to the fire, which was only a few meters from the base. I was standing up, when something told me to go toward the river. I decided to pay attention and did so."

At that moment, an episode he'll never forget too place. "When I got there, only a few seconds after seeing the river, I saw a brillant red sphere rising out the water, approximately 20 meters long. It moved repeatedly from left to right, parallel to the river," he explained in detail. According to the witness, "the object began disappearing little by little until distance kept us from seeing it. Bear in mind that other people in the campground didn't hear it, althought they were only five meters from where I was standing."

"In other words, I wasn't able to hear the conversations of my companions by the bonfire. That's not all. Another thing to highlight is that I was in shock for almost 15 minutes after the sighting. This happened at 1 in the morning," remarked the specialist.

Costes, whose story was broadcast on the Codigo OVNI radio show, explained that "the entire episode lasted some 3 minutes. My companions managed to see around 30 seconds to a full minute, perhaps, of the phenomenon."

MANCHESTER, NH - More residents from around the Granite State are reporting seeing strange lights in the skies during the past few months, including two sightings caught on camera during the past three weeks in Concord and Manchester, according to reports online.

An Idaho witness at Boise reported watching and videotaping a red light in the sky that emitted a flashing orb that moved to ground level, according to testimony in Case 52934 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database. The incident occurred on December 24, 2013, and was reported to MUFON the following day. MUFON STAR Team Investigator Charles Stansburge investigated and closed this case as an Unknown. The witness was driving home with his wife when they first saw a red light in the sky.

The origin of a series of lights spotted glowing eerily through the clouds over Kent remains a mystery. The UFOs were reported hanging in the sky over Hythe and Folkestone by several people, with a series of sets appearing over the course of 30 minutes.

One theory is the lights are flares, used by armed forces to illuminate areas of a battlefield.

And the nearby military ranges at both Hythe and Lydd would seem to make this an obvious explanation.

However, the MoD says no flares were being used at its firing ranges in the area.
A spokesman confirmed there was no activity on Lydd Ranges on Sunday morning when the lights were spotted at about 10.30am.

An Indiana witness at Greencastle reported a hovering, glowing sphere along Interstate 70 that appeared to move toward the ground level, according to testimony in Case 74094 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database. The witness was driving to work about 7:05 a.m. on January 25, 2016, along eastbound Interstate 70 near the Greencastle exit when a light in the sky was first seen and thought to be attached to an antenna. “I then realized the light I could see was not flashing like the ones on those antennas,” the witness stated.“The object was hovering in place.”

     A Washington witness at Spokane Valley reported watching and videotaping a glowing sphere that stopped to hover and appeared to drop something, according to testimony in Case 53762 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness stepped outside onto a back porch about 7 p.m. on January 26, 2014, and noticed a bright object that was yellow, red and orange.

“It traveled towards our house northbound, stopped, and changed direction to the east,” the witness stated. “I had called my family to witness the object.”

The witness described the object.

“The object stopped, flashed very brightly several times and then discarded something. There was glowing discharge from the bottom of the object. Object lost brightness intensity and then slowly went away.” [...]

     An Oregon witness at Eugene reported watching and photographing a dark sphere UFO just above the tree line on an adjacent property, according to testimony in Case 71227 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was looking out a kitchen window facing east when a dark object was first noticed above the tree line over a neighbor’s backyard at 9:24 a.m. on October 6, 2015.

“I had just enough time to get my camera and caught several in-focus images of a dark sphere or something round and dark,” the witness stated.“I was standing in the sliding glass doorway when I photographed the dark object before it moved behind a tree and I lost sight of the object.” [...]
