Parkland Students Epically Troll School Over New Security Measures
(ANTIMEDIA) — Following the Valentine’s Day shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, government institutions have moved to enact multiple measures intended to prevent further violence in schools. These measures have included adding more police officers and security, as well as enacting some firearms restrictions.
One of the most unpopular measures, however, has been Stoneman Douglas’ new policy of requiring students to wear clear backpacks (for their safety). The students, many of whom have vocally demanded gun control to a national audience, are none too pleased.
To voice their opposition to what they believe is a violation of their rights, they have started using the backpacks to display memes and protest signs, and one student actually turned his backpack into an aquarium with live fish swimming around in it.
An Instagram page recently cropped up showcasing some of the dissent. Some are political and some are nonsensical but all show students are both shows are neither amused or comforted by the new requirement.

Unsurprisingly, many students used their backpacks to call for gun control:
As students have expressed their distaste for clear backpacks, many observers commented (also through memes) on the irony of many of them calling for restricting gun rights of otherwise innocent people and, in return, losing their own constitutional rights when they haven’t done anything wrong. Regardless of whether or not one agrees with gun control or clear backpacks, however, it’s objectively resourceful to use the school-mandated policy in order to protest it. And also pretty funny.
