Dem claims of ‘voter suppression’ in Georgia debunked: New data show registration, voting INCREASED under Kemp
(National Sentinel) False Narrative: The Democrat Party and its allies in the Left-wing ‘establishment’ media are working overtime to destroy Americans’ trust in our institutions and particularly in our election system as they push one lie after another in order to delegitimize Republican victories.
For example, during the recent post-midterm election chaos in Georgia, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams claimed that one of the main reasons why she lost to GOP Secretary of State Brian Kemp was due to Republican “voter suppression.”
Mind you, since Kemp was the secretary of state, the task of overseeing elections fell to him. And since he won by 54,000 votes, the only way that could have happened, Abrams insisted, was if he helped to suppress votes.
“It was not a free and fair election,” Abrams said, without evidence and very irresponsibly, in a recent television interview. “We had thousands of Georgians who were purged from the rolls wrongly. … It was not fair to the thousands … forced to wait in long lines because they were in polling places that were under-resourced, or worse, they had no polling places to go to because more than 300 had been closed.”
“It was not fair to the thousands that were put on hold with their registrations,” Abrams noted further. “Brian Kemp oversaw for eight years the systematic and systemic dismantling of our democracy, and that means there could not be free and fair elections in Georgia this year.”
If only her reality was the real reality.

“Not only has overall voter registration increased by 20 percent since Kemp took office as Georgia’s secretary of state, but final tabulations indicate turnout in 2018 dwarfed previous midterm elections,” the Washington Free Beacon reported.
More than 3.9 million people cast ballots in Georgia’s gubernatorial race earlier this month. That compares with 2.5 million in 2014 and 2.4 million in 2010.
In all, Georgia’s voter turnout tallied 55 percent of the eligible electorate or 17 points higher than 2014 and 14 points more than in 2010.
In 2018, the turnout totals actually rivaled prior presidential election years. In 2016, more than 59 percent of registered voters—or about 4 million—cast a ballot in Georgia, with similar numbers in 2012.
So clearly Kemp, as secretary of state, oversaw an uptick in voting — not a downturn.
Meanwhile, the uptick clearly benefitted Abrams. She received more votes than any Democrat running statewide since 2008 with 1.9 million; that’s 34,000 more than Hillary Clinton in 2016 and 800,000 more than the Democrat Party’s gubernatorial candidate in 2014.
Yes, 1.5 million people have been removed from Georgia’s voter registration rolls since 2012, but that’s because they were determined to be “inactive” — people who had not voted in three elections and did not respond to outreach efforts by the state to verify their status. She also doesn’t mention that the overall number of voters has been increasing since the state began purging its voter registration rolls in 1998.
Abrams is reflective of today’s Democrat Party when it comes to our elections: She wanted to delegitimize Kemp’s victory the way the national media and special counsel Robert Mueller have been working to delegitimize POTUS Donald Trump’s very clear electoral victory.
If Democrats can succeed in convincing a majority of Americans they cannot trust our current electoral system, then they can succeed in replacing it with something that would guarantee them governing majorities for the rest of time.
