The OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is Sprint’s next 5G phone

Sprint teased that it’d be getting a 5G phone from OnePlus a few weeks ago, and now we have the details: the carrier will be offering the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G as its fourth 5G device for $840, joining the Galaxy S10 5G, LG V50 ThinQ, and HTC 5G Hub hot spot.

The news may be a little disappointing to some due to the speculation that the promised OnePlus 5G device for Sprint might be a new product (perhaps a 5G variant of the rumored OnePlus 7T). But it makes sense that the two companies would start by offering the company’s existing — and excellent — OnePlus 7 Pro 5G model. Today’s news also marks the US debut for the 5G variant, which was previously only available on EE in the UK.

As the name suggests, the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is a 5G variant of the OnePlus 7 Pro, and it offers the same top-notch 90Hz high-refresh rate display, Snapdragon 855 processor, and pop-up camera system.

The OnePlus 7 Pro 5G will be available on Sprint starting today, August 27th, in select retail stores, through Sprint’s website on August 28th, and on September 6th in all of Sprint’s nine 5G cities, which the company just expanded with the launch of its next-generation network in NYC, LA, Phoenix, and Washington, DC.
