Wikileaks’ Assange smacks down Eric Holder over ‘Russian meddling’: ‘Try following the Constitution next time’

On Friday Assange hit back, accusing Holder and, by association former President Obama, of violating the Constitution and their oaths of office.
“Attacked? By what? The truth? It’s entirely your own fault, Eric. Thanks to your unconstitutional grand jury against @WikiLeaks you left me with nothing to do but work 24/7, in harsh conditions, for years–and I’m good, very good, at my job,” he tweeted.

He then said that Holder should “follow the Constitution you swore to uphold” next time — “not that there will” be one.

Reporting following the 2016 election noted that the Obama administration was aware of Russian meddling attempts but took no action against Moscow until after the election.
Assange has repeatedly gone on record to state that neither Russia nor any state actor was behind email hacks of the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, John Podesta, prior to the 2016 presidential election.
Wikileaks published several of those emails, which he and others claim were not hacked at all.
Internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom said former DNC IT staffer Seth Rich downloaded the emails and gave them to Wikileaks.
The Daily Mail reported exclusively in December 2016 that a former British diplomat-turned-Wikileaks operative met someone in a park in Washington, D.C., and was given the downloaded emails.
“Neither of [the leaks] came from the Russians,” Murray said. “The source had legal access to the information. The documents came from inside leaks, not hacks,” Craig Murray told the paper.
At the time the FBI offered to let its cyber forensic experts examine the DNC’s computer servers but the political organization refused.
A subsequent independent forensic analysis discovered that the emails were indeed downloaded locally, most likely to a thumb drive, not hacked and certainly not by Russia.
