UNHINGED: Nancy Pelosi DEMANDS Speaker Ryan REMOVE Devin Nunes from chair of House Intel Committee as DEEP STATE DEMS’ panic continues
(National Sentinel) Fat Chance: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., demanded on Thursday that House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., remove Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., as head of the House Intelligence Committee as rumors swirled that President Donald J. Trump would release the so-called “FISA memo” on Friday.
“@DevinNunes’ deliberately dishonest actions make him unfit to serve as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. @SpeakerRyan must immediately remove him from this position,” she tweeted, with a #RemoveNunes hashtag.
“Today, Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi sent a letter to Speaker Paul Ryan demanding the removal of House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes after it was revealed that he altered the contents of a reckless, partisan memo released to the White House after it had already been voted on by the Committee and presented to House Members,” said a statement from the House minority leader’s office.
“Chairman Nunes’ action is a violation of House rules and is part of a partisan pattern to discredit the investigations into the Trump-Russia scandal. Both the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation have warned against the release of Nunes’ memo, stating grave concerns about the accuracy of the memo and its misrepresentation of classified information,” the statement said.
Nunes has pushed back against allegations he somehow made secret, substantive changes to the FISA memo in conjunction with the White House.
“Having stonewalled Congress’ demands for information for nearly a year, it’s no surprise to see the FBI and DOJ issue spurious objections to allowing the American people to see information related to surveillance abuses at these agencies,” Nunes said in a statement posted to the committee’s website.
“The FBI is intimately familiar with ‘material omissions’ with respect to their presentations to both Congress and the courts, and they are welcome to make public, to the greatest extent possible, all the information they have on these abuses,” he continued.
“Regardless, it’s clear that top officials used unverified information in a court document to fuel a counter-intelligence investigation during an American political campaign. Once the truth gets out, we can begin taking steps to ensure our intelligence agencies and courts are never misused like this again.”
Critics have lashed out at Democrats and their media allies for working to conceal a report that has major implications for the American people, especially as the movie “The Post” remains in theaters.
The film is a drama about how the Washington Post pushed back against federal government threats to publish the Pentagon Papers, which showed that the Johnson administration lied about the depth and scope of America’s involvement in Vietnam.
