Snapchat trolls FB with April Fools’ Russian bot filter
Photo-sharing app Snapchat trolled Facebook on April Fools’ Day with a filter designed to recreate Russian bots liking users’ posts. The filter places a Facebook UI around the photo with Cyrillic script-like text, and includes likes from “your mum” and “a bot”. Last year, it was revealed that bots on Facebook were used to influence the 2016 US presidential election.
