Seattle residents become UNHINGED over what they thought was a Confederate flag…EPIC fail

(National Sentinel) Globally Stupid: In recent days residents of a Seattle suburb, Greenwood, looked out their windows and became outraged over what they said was a Confederate flag flying beneath the U.S. flag in the neighborhood.

The Seattle Times quickly sent a reporter to investigate; it turns out it wasn’t a Confederate flag after all.

It was the flag of Norway.

Rebecca Morris, who is an author of The New York Times best-seller true-crime books, failed to do some detective work of her own before calling the paper with this tip:

“Hi. Suddenly there is a Confederate flag flying in front of a house in my Greenwood neighborhood. It is at the north-east corner of 92nd and Palatine, just a block west of 92nd and Greenwood Ave N. I would love to know what this ‘means’ … but of course don’t want to knock on their door. Maybe others in the area are flying the flag? Maybe it’s a story? Thank you.”

Of course, the intrepid Seattle Times reporter did knock on the door.

“That’s a Norwegian flag,” said the Norwegian owner of the flagpole in question. “It’s been up there since the start of the Olympics.

“I’m a proud Norwegian-American. My parents emigrated here in the mid-1950s. He skippered tugboats,” the man continued.

Norwegians should be proud; the country’s Olympic athletes have managed a jaw-dropping 35 medals, 13 of which are gold, the same as Germany.

The Daily Wire reported that one of the Norwegians flying the flag said she’s never even seen a Confederate flag.
