Rand Paul defends Trump against former CIA Director Brennan: Who’s ‘disgraceful?’
(National Sentinel) Backhand: Sen. Rand Paul defended President Donald J. Trump against an attack by Obama’s CIA director, John Brennan, after he attacked the commander-in-chief for over former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe’s firing.

In his response, Paul, a Kentucky Republican, noted that under Brennan’s watch the U.S. intelligence community was weaponized by President Obama against the American people.
“This man had the power to search every American’s records without a warrant,” Paul tweeted Sunday. “What’s disgraceful is attacking the Bill of Rights and the freedom of every American.”

Others noted that during sworn testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee in 2014 that Brennan lied about his agency’s role spying on committee staffers, then attempting to have them indicted.

Others were critical of Brennan’s attack on Trump.
“A year ago, media narrative was that intel chiefs were a bunch of apolitical boyscouts [sic] who were right to take pee-pee kompromat claims seriously. As Brennan’s increasingly unhinged tweets show, a year later, that narrative (and push by compliant media) looks patently absurd,” tweeted The Federalist‘s Mollie Hemmingway.
“Over the top comments from this and other senior former Obama officials show why it isn’t difficult to imagine the Obama intelligence apparatus’ being misused and abused to target,” added Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, whose organization has uncovered a plethora of scandal tied to the Obama Justice Department and FBI.
