Left-wing hate bigot John Oliver leads attack against VP Pence’s daughter over her children’s book

(National SentinelFace of Intolerance: There’s something inherently innocent about a children’s book, and generally speaking, the American public views the authors of such books in a positive, inspiring way.

But these days, the Left insists on politicizing everything as well as besmirching anything and everything tied to conservatives or pro-Trump Americans, even when they’re nearly still children themselves.

Vice President Mike Pence’s daughter, Charlotte Pence, has recently written a charming children’s book that was illustrated by the VP’s wife, Karen Pence. The tome, “Marlon Bundo’s Day in the Life of the Vice President,” features a black-and-white rabbit as the title character and is, as publisher Regnery states, both entertaining and educational.

“With his appearances at official White House events, his rides on Air Force 2, and his popular Instagram account, Marlon Bundo has become a beloved member of the Trump-Pence administration,” says an account of the book at Amazon.

However, the book is being savaged by tasteless bullies in the entertainment industry and beyond because, you know, in the age of Trump, the Left has lost all its decorum and has changed the rules of acceptable behavior.

As noted by The Daily Wire’s editor, Ben Shapiro:

HBO comedian John Oliver released a book called A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo, supposedly written by Marlon Bundo with Jill Twiss, and illustrated by EG Keller. That was designed as a slight against Pence; he launched into a rant about how Pence supposedly hates gay people, then said he would be releasing the competing book. This book is about homosexual rabbits: Marlon is gay and falls in love with Wesley while living at the Naval Observator (sic). The bad guy: Stink Bug, who looks like Mike Pence.

But it wasn’t enough to just target a wonderful children’s book that had no political statement or agenda attached to it with nasty, sex-related propaganda depicting Republicans as ‘evil’ people who hate gays (and rabbits). Followers of the ‘comedian’ then went on Amazon to spam and sabotage the book with 1-star ratings.

“This is the nature of the hard-Left,” noted Shapiro. “They hate conservatives so much that they’re willing to smear completely apolitical children’s literature in order to target those conservatives.

“Charlotte is a delightful young woman with no discernible political background other than her association with her dad; the book is utterly apolitical (Shapiro said he bought a copy for his young daughter). So naturally, it must be made a target of LGBT mockery. You know, to save the country from Trump.”

Shapiro’s exactly right — Neither Oliver nor any of his Marxist drones have a clue about Charlotte’s politics. For all they know, she is an avid supporter of LGBT rights (as well as equal rights for all other Americans too). We just don’t know, and frankly, we can’t assume anything based on her father’s positions and her direct relationship with him as his daughter.

That doesn’t matter to the “tolerant” Left, however.

Now, if you wanted to get purely political about a children’s book, then one could find plenty of reasons to criticize Chelsea Clinton’s “children’s book,” which is called, “She Persisted” — which was reported as a play off of Senate Majority Mitch McConnell’s words in explaining why Sen. Elizabeth “Fauxcahontas” Warren was silenced in the Senate chamber in March 2017.

Clinton’s book features the stories of girls and women “who didn’t take no for an answer,” she tweeted (imagine if President Trump wrote a book titled, “He Persisted,” featuring the stories of men “who didn’t take no for an answer,” if you can).

That’s political and intentionally so. That’s a book that invites serious debate about gender roles and responsibilities in a ever-evolving American society. Fair enough.

But mocking someone’s religious faith (which is what the tasteless Oliver was really doing to the Pence’s with is gay rabbit book) is neither helpful nor in good taste.

Not that the Left cares about such things these days.
