Kathy Griffin’s desperate, pathetic attempt to blame Trump for her lunacy
(National Sentinel) Political Discourse: We have one simple question for Kathy Griffin: If some celebrity publicly humiliated by holding up a mock decapitation of him for a picture that traveled the globe in a half hour when were 11 years old, do you think that, perhaps, it might have upset you and, maybe, scarred you for life?
That’s the question Griffin should have asked herself before agreeing to do the despicable, tasteless, classless photo shoot depicting President Donald J. Trump’s decapitation, that his 11-year-old son saw.
Because had she done that and really taken time to rationally reflect on her decision, she most likely would have reconsidered, still had a career, and wouldn’t have to desperately try to change the subject and tone of discussion with a pathetic “news” conference aimed at blaming the Trumps for her insensitive ignorance.
Per the AP:
Embattled comedian Kathy Griffin says she’s not afraid of Donald Trump and plans to keep making fun of him but maintained that she’s sorry for a video that depicted her holding a likeness of the president’s severed, bloody head.
At a rambling press conference Friday, Griffin tearfully predicted her career is over and said Trump “broke me.” Since the video was posted Tuesday, she has lost her job co-hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve special and had five comedy shows canceled. Trump, first lady Melania Trump and Donald Trump Jr. have publicly criticized the video.
Griffin, who asserted that she has been contacted by the Secret Service, said the Trumps are “trying to ruin my rights forever.”
In many ways Griffin’s attempt to vindicate her unspeakable cruelty by blaming the subject and not herself – which is very Hillary Clinton-like – is typical of our Leftist-dominated pop culture today: Be and act ridiculous, and when you get called out for it, take no personal responsibility.
Even the way the Alt-Left AP reported Griffin’s news conference was pathetic and forgiving, with the headline: “Griffin not ‘laying down’ for Trump, fears career is over.”
With this headline no question the AP is providing cover to Griffin, who did what she did of her own volition and acts as though the president and his family have no right to be upset.
As for Griffin’s claim that the Trumps are “trying to ruin” her rights forever, what if that’s true? Did she not bring that on herself? And since when, before the age of Trump, would anyone have been considered to be on the right side of moral behavior to do what she did?
The Left has decided that all the rules pertaining to behavior and morality and decorum do not apply to Trump, just because he does not fit the stereotypical mold of a president (and because he disagrees with much of the Left’s agenda). Thankfully, the American people are deciding the issue for Griffin, not the Trumps.
The AP:
Backlash against Griffin has continued to grow. Griffin said five of her performances have been canceled this week.
Venues in New Jersey, New York, New Mexico and Pennsylvania canceled upcoming shows. The Community Arts Theater in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, posted on its website that the show had been dropped “due to the recent controversy surrounding Kathy Griffin and the concern for the safety and security of our patrons and staff.”
Sen. Al Franken also dis-invited Griffin from an event promoting his new book, “Giant of the Senate.”
“After hearing from many Minnesotans who were rightfully offended, I’ve come to the conclusion that it would be best for her not to participate in the event we had previously scheduled,” the Minnesota Democrat said Thursday, a day after he had said she was still welcome. “I understand why Minnesotans were upset by this, and I take that very seriously.”
He said what Griffin did “was inappropriate and not something that should be anywhere in our national discourse.”
An endorsement deal with Squatty Potty also ended.
Though Griffin apologized within hours of the images appearing online Tuesday, they were met with swift and widespread condemnation.
[…]
Even Anderson Cooper, her CNN co-host for the New Year’s Eve show, condemned the images. Griffin said she has not spoken to Cooper since, and appeared visibly upset and struggled to speak when fielding questions about Cooper.
To put this fallout on anyone but herself is sad and pathetic.
Republican Party spokesman Mike Reed called the press conference a “desperate attempt” to change the conversation.
“Kathy Griffin’s career was over long before she attempted to make a disgusting joke about decapitating the President,” Reed said. “What she did was wrong and President Trump and his family have every right to condemn it.”
So do the American people.
