Greatness on display: Pentagon announces Trump’s parade plan on Veterans Day in DC
(National Sentinel) American Power: The Pentagon on Friday announced plans to hold a military parade in Washington D.C., as President Donald J. Trump promised earlier this year.
According to CNN, at least some troops marching in the parade will wear uniforms from earlier periods in U.S. history.

CNN noted further that according to a Pentagon planning memo there were be no heavy armored military vehicles at all. But the parade will integrate with the annual DC Veterans Day parade and center on contributions of U.S. military veterans from the Revolutionary War to today “with an emphasis on the price of freedom.”
The parade will “include wheeled vehicles only, no tanks,” the memo said, adding that “consideration must be given to minimize damage to local infrastructure.”
The parade will nevertheless feature “a heavy air component” with military aircraft flying over the capital city at the parade’s end, including older aircraft “as available,” said the memo.
Period uniforms from the Old Guard Fife and Drum, a unit that always parades in period uniforms, will be included as well.
“The Joint Staff will be responsible for planning the parade and Northern Command, which oversees U.S. troops in North America, will be responsible for executing it, according to the memo, which was signed by U.S. Navy Capt. Hallock Mohler Jr., the executive secretary for the office of the secretary of defense,” CNN reported.
The route will stretch from the White House to the Capitol Building. Veterans and Medal of Honor recipients will sit with the president as he reviews the parade.
News of the parade emerged last month, with many in the political commentariat and Left-leaning media critical of the idea. But Trump said he would not let the parade become a financial burden.
“We’ll see if we can do it at a reasonable cost, and if we can’t, we won’t do it. But the generals would love to do it, I can tell you, and so would I,” Trump told Fox News late last month.
“I think it’s great for our country in terms of being a cheerleader and the spirit,” he added.
