Californians fed up with crazy taxes, housing costs, fleeing in DROVES as breakaway movement grows
(National Sentinel) Nightmare: Fed up with skyrocketing taxes, housing costs, and Democratic policies, Californians are abandoning the state in droves in what could affect its economy and electoral clout in the years ahead if the trend holds.

As reported by CNBC, Census Bureau data show California lost just over 138,000 people to domestic migration in the 12 months ended in July 2017.
Many who are leaving are on the lower-income scale, but the state is beginning to see flight among middle-class earners as well, the network reported.
“There’s nowhere in the United States that you can find better weather than here,” Dave Senser, who lives on a fixed income near San Luis Obispo, California, and now plans to move to Las Vegas, told CNBC.
“Rents here are crazy if you can find a place, and they’re going to tax us to death. That’s what it feels like. At least in Nevada, they don’t have a state income tax. And every little bit helps,” he added.
In addition to Nevada, residents are fleeing for Arizona and Texas, primarily, the network reported.
Senser, who once lived in the San Francisco region, said housing and gasoline prices are “significantly lower in Las Vegas. The government in the state of California isn’t helping people like myself. That’s why people are running out of this state now.”
“The rate at which California has been losing people to other states has accelerated in the past couple of years, in part because of rising housing costs,” added Jed Kolko, chief economist with employment website Indeed.com, CNBC reported.
Meanwhile, movements to break the state into smaller states are growing.
As reported by Fox News, Californians upset over President Donald J. Trump’s victory began pushing for a “Calexit” — California exit — shortly after his victory. And while the initial effort fizzled, there are now additional efforts on behalf of other Californians to break up the state in order to achieve better political representation.
“The worst thing in the world to be is the red part of a blue state,” Joel Kotkin, a fellow at Chapman University in Orange, Calif. and author of The Human City: Urbanism ForThe Rest Of Us, told the network.

He looks at his home state of California and sees numerous clashes between the coastal cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles, and the more conservative counties in the interior. This has led to the New California Movement, already organized in 35 counties, seeking to create two states where there was one. Other plans have California splitting into three states, or even six. It should be noted that these new states would still be bigger than many on the East Coast, and more populous than many in the West.
He said the movement is being driven by polices like the $15 minimum wage, “which makes sense in San Francisco but doesn’t make sense in Fresno.”
He also said the Democrats running Califorinia are “fundamentally authoritarian” with “not a lot of tolerance for any kind of economic or political diversity.”
As he told Fox News, their attitude is, “‘We know the truth, we know what’s right, and it has to apply to everyone.'”
Similiar state-breakup movements are afoot further up the West Coast — in Oregon and even Washington. Also, there are huge differences between Chicago and rural Illinois, New York City and western New York.
