Alibaba can’t stop firm from using ‘Alibabacoin’ name: Judge
A US judge has rejected Alibaba’s plea to block Dubai-based cryptocurrency firm Alibabacoin Foundation from using the name ‘Alibaba’. The judge said the Chinese retailer failed to establish a “reasonable probability” that Alibabacoin’s websites were used to transact business with customers in New York. Alibaba alleged Alibabacoin hurt its business in the US, creating confusion over similar names.
