The works of multiple scholars, from Plato to Manly P. Hall and further down the line, suggest it is essentially the use of rituals and techniques to invoke and control “spirits” or lifeforms that could be existing within other dimensions or worlds.

A distinction is made early in the article about black magic and white magic. Basically, black magic is the process of using entities to accomplish a goal through ceremonial magic.

In November 2016, WikiLeaks leaked emails between Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta and his brother Tony Podesta in which an invitation by performance artist Marina Abramović to a “Spirit Cooking dinner” (spirit cooking is satanic ritual that involves using pig’s blood, human breast milk and semen, as a way of connecting with the spiritual world) was revealed. The leak sparked rumors connecting Hillary and John to Satanism or devil worship.

But a furious Abramović claimed it was just a normal dinner, saying: “It was actually just a normal menu, which I call spirit cooking. There was no blood, no anything else. We just call things funny names, that’s all”.

Later, snopes.com argued the claims of Hillary or John practicing satanic rituals were grossly exaggerated noting.

The latest season of the Netflix drama House of Cards features an episode in which politicians attend a Bohemian Grove-like retreat complete with an ominous statue and a mock human sacrifice.

Season 5, episode 8, puts the series’ protagonist Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey, inside a wooded retreat for powerful men dubbed, “Elysian Fields.”

“Some of the most powerful men in the world are gathered in this clearing,” Underwood states, proceeding throughout the episode to scheme at the club with other influential members.

The episode starts with robed figures chanting in the woods while conducting a ceremony in which they set a human effigy ablaze.

The Little Devil's Hole

It was April 14, 1945. As American tanks rolled into the Bavarian town of Waischenfeld they discovered an abandoned landscape — well almost.

A young boy came to greet the soldiers, riding down the road on his bicycle, carrying a white flag.

As the troops were setting up their base in the local Steinhuas, the boy told of some frenzied activity he had seen in a local cave called Kleines Teufelschloch (Little Devil's Hole).

Since the SS were involved in this curious event, the cave was examined by the Army.
