A 14-year-old boy allegedly pretended to be a police officer as he stole a blind man's wallet at a New York City subway station last week, police said on Sunday.

The teen pretended to help the legally blind 64-year-old through a turnstile at the 34th Street and Eight Avenue station in Manhattan on Monday afternoon, cops said. They added that the boy was captured on surveillance footage unzipping the man's backpack and taking out his wallet.

One of the man's credit cards was quickly charged $500 at a nearby store.

The 14-year-old's mother turned him in on Sunday, police said; they did not release the teen's name. He faces charges of grand larceny and criminal impersonation of a police officer.

A man in California was caught on camera busting a move before he got busted by police for allegedly stealing a laptop last week.

The suspect, identified by police as David Seale, reportedly used a key to unlock an office suite on Tuesday and was caught on surveillance video breakdancing after he initially broke into the building.

Shortly after the theft, Seale, 43, was found nearby with the stolen laptop, the Fresno Police Department wrote on Facebook. Once he was arrested, police said Seale gave a fake name, and he had "several warrants for his arrest," which included a probation warrant.

He was booked at the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property and providing false information, police said.

Investigators then watched three days of surveillance footage, which showed Seale "entered the building and the victim's office suite numerous times over the weekend." The keys he used to access the building were copies, and police said it was unclear where Seale got the original keys to make the copies.

Seale was then charged with commercial burglary. County records indicate he was being held without bail for alleged probation violation.

Three New York City muggers jumped a teen for his expensive-looking sneakers -- that turned out to be fakes, according to reports.

The Air Jordans, which the 17-year-old victim was wearing, would have been worth $2,000 if they were the real deal, the New York Post reported.

The thieves found out they were knockoffs when they tried to sell them to a sneaker shop 20 minutes after the mugging, according to the paper. The violent April 28 assault in Flushing, Queens, in broad daylight was caught on camera.

The Post spoke to a store employee who said he didn’t know the sneakers had been stolen.

He said they looked like authentic Air Jordans until he examined them more closely.

“They’re fake,” he said he told the sellers. “We can’t buy them.”

New York City police are looking for the suspects, who remain at large.

Video of the mugging shows the victim being jumped from behind, thrown to the ground and stripped of his sneakers, all in a few seconds. He is then seen chasing after the thieves, who flee in a white vehicle.

On Thursday police released video footage of the suspects inside the sneaker store, WCBS-TV reported.

The victim suffered cuts to his knees and arms in the mugging, according to the station.
