Fifth Harmony thanked fans in emotional messages posted on social media after taking the stage for their final show on Friday.

The group, that announced in March it will be taking an indefinite hiatus, took the stage at the Hard Rock Live at the Event Center in Hollywood, Fla. — the last stop in their PSA Tour concert.

The all-female singers thanked fans on Twitter for their support ever since they came together six years ago.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better final show, thank you to everyone who came out tonight! Florida, we love you! You’re forever in OUR hearts,” the group tweeted from its official Twitter account.

The singers also posted several group shots on their personal pages. Ally Brooke shared a black and white photo with the caption, “I love you.”

"FOREVER & ALWAYS. I love you more than you’ll ever know. Thank God for all of it," Normani tweeted.

Dinah Jane also shared a similar message, writing “til next time x @FifthHarmony.”

Lauren Jauregui simply wrote “thank you” before she went on stage with the singers for the last show.

Fifth Harmony members shocked fans when a couple of months ago they released a group statement about their break.

“After six years going hard, non stop, we also realized that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavors,” a statement read.

The group, which formed in 2012 on the second season of “The X Factor,” hit a rough patch when fifth member Camila Cabello announced she was leaving, then shortly released her first solo album.

The all-girl band insisted in 2016 they would continue as a four-piece. The four singers also juggled solo projects of their own while in the band.

A crowd of about 30 protesters gathered outside the Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina Friday to protest an R. Kelly concert as part of the latest installment in the #MuteRKelly movement.

Women's groups had urged the Coliseum to cancel the event, days after Kelly was dropped from the lineup of a May 5 concert in Chicago. That decision came as efforts by organizers of the #MuteRKelly campaign gained attention with support from Hollywood's Time's Up.

“We don’t want North Carolina or the city of Greensboro to put money in R. Kelly’s pockets,” said Omisade Burney-Scott of Sistersong, a Durham-based "reproductive justice" group.

R. Kelly is one of pop music's best-selling artists, with hits including "Ignition," ''I Believe I Can Fly," ''Step in the Name of Love," ''Same Girl" and "Bump N' Grind." He's also written hits for Celene Dion, Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga.

He was acquitted in 2008 of child pornography after a video circulated that appeared to show him having sex with a teenage girl. But as he continued to score hits and sell out stadiums, more women have come forward in recent years accusing him of sexual misconduct.

“Kelly is innocent of the false and hurtful accusations in the ongoing smear campaign against him waged by enemies seeking a payoff,” his management said in a statement. “He never has been convicted of a crime, nor does he have any pending criminal charges against him."

On Friday, protesters gathered outside the Coliseum and criticized arena officials for declining to meet with a coalition of women's groups that signed a letter citing a "long term history of sexual misconduct" by Kelly, Greensboro's News & Record reported.

"It's important for the black community to stand up and hold him accountable for his actions," said Omisade Burney-Scott, with Sistersong.

Despite the protests outside, the singer took the stage, launching into a sexually suggestive repertoire. At one point, he rubbed a fan's cell phone between his legs. He persuaded another to wipe his face and crotch with a towel.

On Thursday, Spotify, citing its new policy against hateful content and conduct, announced that Kelly's music is no longer available on the service's owned and operated playlists and algorithmic recommendations. His music can still be found by those who search for it, but Spotify will not promote it. Other prominent streaming services like Pandora appeared to be demoting his music as well.

A body was discovered Thursday as police were searching for Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison.

The Scottish singer vanished early Wednesday morning after he was seen leaving a hotel in South Queensferry, Scotland, the BBC reported.

Police said they found the body in a marina near the Forth Road Bridge and Queensferry Crossing. Police said the body has not been formally identified but Hutchison’s family has been informed.

Hutchison, 36, shared some cryptic tweets before he disappeared.

“Be so good to everyone you love. It’s not a given. I’m so annoyed that it’s not. I didn’t live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved one,” he tweeted.

He followed up that tweet with another shortly after stating, “I’m away now. Thanks.”

Police were pinpointing their search in South Queensferry. The singer’s family urged Hutchison at a news conference Thursday to “just come home because we love you so much.” The family said the singer was in a “very fragile state” before he vanished.

Hutchison has been open about his depression and his brother Neil said he discussed it openly to “help other people with similar conditions.”

Frightened Rabbit, an indie-rock band, was founded by Hutchison and his other brother Grant. Their first album was released in 2006 and the band has gone on to release four more since then.

Following the news of the body, artists and fans paid tribute to Hutchison on social media.

“Can't really believe I'm reading this. Saddest awakening ever. Love and best wishes to all the Hutchison and Frabbit family,” DJ Edith Bowman said.

"Awful news about Scott Hutchison. A terrible loss,” Franz Ferdinand singer Alex Kapranos tweeted.

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon wrote: "Heartbreaking news. My thoughts are with Scott's family, friends and fans. A remarkable and much loved talent."

In a controversial announcement that saw R. Kelly’s music stripped from any and all promotions and playlists on Spotify, the music streaming giant has declared that it will no longer promote hateful music or artists -- a plan that, if executed fully, could drain the service of most of its content.

It’s no secret that the music industry is rife with claims -- some substantiated and others no -- of sexual misconduct by artists. Kelly has been accused by multiple women of sexual coercion and physical abuse but has been convicted of no crime. Although he’s denied these charges, Spotify has made him the go-to example of execution on its new policies by removing him from promotion.

“Spotify has the right to promote whatever music it chooses, and in this case, its actions are without merit. It is acting based on false and unproven allegations. It is bowing to social-media fads and picking sides in a fame-seeking dispute over matters that have nothing to do with serving customers,” said a statement from Kelly’s management to Fox News.

“Meanwhile, though, Spotify promotes numerous other artists who are convicted felons, others who have been arrested on charges of domestic violence and artists who sing lyrics that are violent and anti-women in nature,” it continued.

While people continue to argue the merits of Kelly’s expulsion from the platform’s promotions (his music will still be available on Spotify by search), it’s clear that the company has opened itself up to the pitfalls of a new policy that may not be reasonable to police.

“While we don’t believe in censoring content because of an artist’s or creator’s behavior, we want our editorial decisions - what we choose to program - to reflect our values,” the company said in its announcement. “So, in some circumstances, when an artist or creator does something that is especially harmful or hateful (for example, violence against children and sexual violence), it may affect the ways we work with or support that artist or creator.”

Artists such as Gene Simmons, Ozzy Osbourne, Michael Jackson, Nelly, Nick Carter, Marilyn Manson and countless more have had some form of sexual misconduct complaint made against them over the years. With action on Kelly, each day that passes without consequence for other artists under similar clouds feels like either an endorsement or willful ignorance.

The company is allowed to determine what it does and does not want to promote for its own reasons. However, it’s surprising that it would make the abrupt decision to affect Kelly’s content while not doing a blanket scrub of the artists that face similar accusations. Is the reason that it's likely it would significantly reduce its library of promoteable content? Or is it simply that, despite its big announcement, the company does not yet have the resources to police its content in a balanced way?

Reps for Spotify did not immediately return Fox News’ request for comment. However, a spokesperson addressed this issue in a statement to The New York Times.

“As you can imagine, this is a complicated process with room for debate and disagreement, so we can’t get into an artist-by-artist discussion,” a spokesman for Spotify told the outlet. “In general we work with our partners and try to make decisions on a case-by-case basis.”

Spotify has said that its decision about whether to end promotion on an artist’s work will be made by an internal committee led by Jonathan Prince, vice president of content and marketplace policy. Additionally, it has partnered with the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Anti-Defamation League, Color Of Change, Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ), GLAAD, Muslim Advocates and the International Network Against Cyber Hate to help identify and review potential cases.

While it seems to be hard at work reviewing its library, there are many artists who should be worried -- the criteria for whether or not their work sees promotion on the platform is at best vaguely determined.

Kelly, for example, has not been convicted of any crime, meaning that Spotify’s justice system remains behind closed doors.

Sir Elton John said he gave pop star Ed Sheeran some advice, namely that the young singer's popularity would not last and that he should take a break from music because he was “sick” of him.

The “Rocketman” singer, 71, told George Ezra on his podcast that he became close with countryman Sheeran and was a mentor to him throughout his career, but warned him that not all of his songs will be chart toppers, NME reported.

“You have a heyday and you have a rest, and the heyday can never be replaced,” John said reflecting on his own career.

“After that I had the common sense to know I’m not going to have a number one every time straight away. I knew someone else would take over. It’s cyclical,” he continued.

“Ed will go through that and I’ve talked to him about it,” the crooner said. “I’ve said, ‘There’ll come a time where this won’t happen every time and you have to accept that.’”

The “Tiny Dancer” singer said he was confused to see Sheeran’s album and hit song “Shape Of You” were still popular in the U.S. despite it being released months ago.

“On the [American radio] chart, which is the middle-of-the-road chart, Ed is still No.1 and Shape Of You is still in the chart,” John said.

“It’s like, ‘Why?” How many times do you want to listen to these things?”

John said he encouraged Sheeran to take a break between the release of his second and third album.

“He was so omnipresent I said, ‘Ed, even I’m sick of you. Go away.’ And he did. He just went to the Far East with his girlfriend, had a great time, put on a lot of weight, ate food and came back,” he said.

John mentioned his farewell tour and was adamant that the concerts that run until 2020 will be the end.

“I’m not Cher,” referring to the singer’s multiple farewell tours. “This is the end.”
